The city is more important than ever. Right now, more people live in cities than at any other time in human history. Never before has the majority of the world’s population been an urban population. 

Cities have always played a central role in human history. 

Cities have long stood as powerful places of cultural development, influence, and invention—offering hope, refuge, and new beginnings. But never before have cities been as populated, powerful, and important as they are today. 

The world is changing. Our world is experiencing the largest movement of urban growth in history. Our world is now predominantly urban, and there’s no going back. This new reality, this new world, presents a historic opportunity for Christians.

O que é que fazemos?

Trabalhamos para uma empresa mundial. Com filiais em praticamente todos os países do mundo.
Temos hospitais e hospícios, centros de acolhimento para pessoas sem abrigo.
Fazemos trabalho de família, temos orfanatos, temos programas contra a fome, programas educacionais, fazemos todo o tipo de coisas relativas à justiça e reconciliação.
Basicamente, cuidamos de pessoas desde o nascimento até à morte, actuando na área de alteração de comportamentos. Chamamo-nos Igreja.

O Lord and Master of my life!

The Cry to God as ‘Father’ in the New Testament is not a calm acknowledgement of a universal truth about God’s abstract fatherhood.

It is the Child’s cry out of a nightmare.

It is the cry of outrage, fear, shrinking away, when faced with the horror of the ‘world’ - yet not simply or exclusively protest, but trust as well.

Solitude

It is a difficult lesson to learn today, to leave one’s friends and family and deliberately practise the art of solitude for an hour or a day or a week.

For me, the break is most difficult …

And yet, once it is done, I find there is a quality to being alone that is incredibly precious.
